The Reserve

The reserve is an eco-friendly development of 24 single family units in the jungle overlooking the Pacific Ocean in the sleepy town of Santa Teresa, Costa Rica.

This signature design sets up the model unit for the community and takes full advantage of the experience of the natural surroundings, using natural, local materials for building and previous materials for surfacing.

The open floor plan along with the full wall of sliding glass allows the jungle terrain and the inside living spaces to blend together seamlessly. The line between indoor and outdoor blurs to give the user a heightened sense of nature.  Due to the down-slope nature of all the building pads, the houses find themselves rooted in the earth so as to minimize their visual impact on the landscape.
